At some point, every engaged couple has the conversation of where and what to do for their wedding. On the other hand, only 20% of them decide to do get married away from their hometowns. The dream of having a destination wedding often crosses the minds of newly weds, after all who wouldn't want to have a fantasy style wedding in a gorgeous and unique setting. At the same time, many questions come to mind. Can I actually plan a wedding in a far off city, country or resort? Will my family and friends give the support for a great event. Whether in the beautiful islands of the Caribbean or the exciting atmosphere of Vegas the limits are set only by your imagination. What does your dream tell you? Don't let yourself down, go for it.
3. Your friends an family will thank you. Now this I speak from experience. After my wedding in St Thomas, my wife and I never heard the end of it and often relived the memories with family and friends. Everyone was able to tie in a few days vacation with our wedding at a beautiful resort. And since we booked as a group, we were able to get great rates for everyone who booked with us as a group. In the end, the best part of the experience was being able to spend some real quality time with our friends and family. Rarely do you have the opportunity to do this, but that alone maybe worth the trip.
4. A wedding to remember. For most, this will be the only destination wedding they will ever attend and with that not soon to forget. You will surely stand out from others and be unique, because as I said earlier only 20% of couples will marry outside of their hometowns.
5. Decor and preparations? Well yes you still have to make some arrangements, however, the beauty of the destination and location you select is that it will provide ambiance and setting for the event. Whether on a pristine beach in Maui or in a historic plantation house in Savannah you can be rest assured that without the hassle of a traditional wedding your going to have a beautiful event.
I could simply go on and on, but in the end it truly is a matter of choice. To each his own as they say, but for those will to take the chance the rewards can be quite memorable. As stated earlier, there are many options to choose from. Take your time and shop around, find the right fit for you and your dreams.
